Nothing planned tonight, so I flop down and reach for the remote. 今晚没啥安排，我往沙发上一瘫，顺手摸起遥控器。

I turn on the TV and start flipping through channels, 打开电视，开始随手翻台，

not really looking for anything in particular. 倒也没什么特别想看的。

News, a cooking show, 新闻、美食节目，

some old movie I've seen a hundred times — 还有一部我都看过八百遍的老电影——

I keep clicking, caught in that endless loop of channel surfing. 我手指按个不停，陷入了漫无目的换台的死循环。

I turn the volume up during a quiet scene, 遇到声音轻的情节就把音量调大，

then down when an ad blares too loud. 广告冷不丁炸响时又赶紧调小。

The remote is running low, 遥控器快没电了，

so I pop the back off and swap in fresh batteries. 我抠开后盖，换上了新电池。

Eventually I give up on finding something new and just settle on the familiar movie, 折腾到最后，我懒得再找新节目，索性停在熟悉的老片上，

letting it play in the background. 就当背景音放着。

Funny how we'll scroll for twenty minutes to avoid picking the first decent thing we saw. 想想也挺逗，明明第一眼就看到了还不错的片子，却非得瞎翻上二十分钟。

Feet up, lights low, I finally stop searching and just watch. 把脚一翘，灯光调暗，我总算消停下来，安心看了起来。
