A Successful Operation. 一次成功的手术

The mummy of an Egyptian woman who died in 800 BC has just had an operation. 一位死于公元前800年的埃及女性木乃伊刚刚接受了一次手术。

The mummy is that of Shepenmut, 这具木乃伊是谢彭穆特，

who was once a singer in the temple of Thebes. 她曾是底比斯神庙的一名歌手。

As there were strange marks on the x-ray plates taken of the mummy, 由于木乃伊的X光片上有奇怪的印记，

Doctors have been trying to find out whether the woman died of a rare disease. 医生们一直想搞清楚这位女性是否死于一种罕见疾病。

The operation, 手术

which lasted for over four hours, 持续了四个多小时，

The doctors removed a section of the mummy and sent it to a laboratory. 医生们切下木乃伊的一部分，送到了实验室。
